Meat Cove Mountain, Cape Breton

We finally got to hike Meat Cove Mountain! If you’ve ever ventured to Meat Cove you know that it’s a bit of a trek off the beaten path…but it’s got these incredible ocean views and a mountain with a 360 degree view at the top!

White Point, Cape Breton

White Point is definitely one of our favourite places on the island. It truly is a gem - it’s calm and quiet, and the sound of crashing ocean makes it the perfect location for a relaxing stroll through nature. Pack a picnic and eat alfresco (outside), absorbing all the wonderful natural sights and sounds. We hope that you enjoy it as much as we do!

'Meat Cove to Lowlands Cove', Cape Breton

With a true edge of the world atmosphere, Meat Cove, Cape Breton never disappoints those who are looking for a place to get away from it all. There are some fantastic hiking opportunities here and a great campground with a beautiful beach just below.

Fishing Cove, Cape Breton Highlands National Park

If you’re looking to hike where there’s the sound of rushing water, lush ferns and mosses, with a finale of the ocean, you’re in luck with the Fishing Cove hiking trail. It is around 6km one way. The trail blew us away with how pristine nature is out here where it’s left to be undisturbed.

Tenerife Mountain, Cape Breton

Possibly one of the most stunning views on the island. It is breathtaking at any time of year, but the fall is particularly captivating. Oranges, reds and yellows below you, as far as the eye can see. It is definitely well worth the steep uphill section just before you get to the look off.

Squirrel Mountain, Cape Breton

The hiking trail hugs the mountain and greets you with a vast panoramic view from Cheticamp to Margaree Island. It's not an extremely long hike, but you may have to take a few quick rests as you make your way up the mountain!

Polletts Cove, Cape Breton

Polletts Cove is a must hike when you're in Cape Breton. Whether you plan a day or overnighter and camp - you'll have an amazing trip! There's mountains to climb, a river to cross, and if you're lucky - wild horses roaming on the beach just waiting to meet you!
