Foam rollers to help you with muscle soreness

Having a foam roller is such a must for anyone, who is really physically active or suffering from work related injuries. Roman is a Massage Therapist and Acupuncturist and he recommends these to his clients all the time. They are a great self help tool to have at home even when you are getting regular massage treatments, chiropractic adjustments or physio treatment.

Foam rollers give an amazing deep pressure and work extremely well on Trigger Points and myosfascial restrictions. We recommend getting a larger version (around 36 inches) so you can treat both legs at the same time and massage your low back more easily, but if you want to save some money you can opt for the smaller versions.

The foam rollers that are smooth are really great, but we own one by TP Therapy and we prefer these as they have a stronger core. They are made of hard plastic on the inside and will last much longer. Their surface is also not smooth. This way you get a lot more drag on the skin and give yourself more of a fascial treatment when there is direct contact with the skin.

But if you are unsure about how much you will use these and want to give it a shot, the foam rollers that are solid foam and smooth will be a great choice.

And if you are suffering from plantar fasciitis or general foot pain then there are also options out there for smaller rollers that will work well on your feet. These are best used when standing and barefooted as you can apply more pressure this way as compared to when being seated.
